Since 2011, I’ve been traveling for work. My previous experience with travel was pretty minimal – maybe I flew somewhere once a year at most. I didn’t know how to maximize the travel I was taking, nor did I know where to find resources.

I stumbled across some blogs and travel communities and the world of travel opened up to me. My focus is to maximize my travel so I’m earning miles and points wherever I can. For work travel, I have specific parameters that I have to follow but I can still earn, just not as much. For personal travel, a world is opened up where I can maximize the amount of points and miles I earn, or earn cash back, all while accruing miles and status.

Travel has gone from something that I knew almost nothing about to my hobby. When I’m not traveling for work, I’m dreaming of far flung locations to visit. I try to understand the rules of the various airline, hotel, rental car, and credit card programs so that my out of pocket costs are minimized. Because of my passion for travel, I’ve had a lot of friends and colleagues ask my advice, which I’m always happy to give.

This blog is an extension of those requests. It allows me to document some of my mundane, and not so mundane, travels, give advice, and start conversations. If there’s something you’d like to know about, let me know. And, thanks for stopping by!
